Let’s take a minute to talk about the many changes and stages life takes us through.

How many of you can look back at your life and remember the defining moments or the times that you made a dramatic change in your lifestyle?

I sure can….

Meeting the man who would become my husband, and marrying him…..

Starting a family and choosing to leave my job to stay at home with my children while he pursued his military career.

These are just a couple of the big events that have shaped my life over the years.

You may be asking yourself why I’m bringing this up….

Because I’m actually at the start of a pretty big lifestyle change at the moment.

If you’ve been wondering why it’s been so quiet on the blog lately, it’s because after 14 years as a stay at home mom, I’ve gone back to work. It’s a decision I’ve actively avoided for many years because the idea of making such a big change scared the shit out of me.

But after many discussions with my husband, I started the great adventure of job hunting. I was surprised when the perfect career opportunity fell in my lap and after a few hiccups (which I’ll talk about in later posts) I was hired as a behavior therapist working with individuals with special needs. Needless to say between on the job training and credentialing classes, I haven’t had much spare time lately.

What does that mean for the blog?

I’ve thought about this a lot. How can I best serve both the authors and reader? The answer I’ve come up with is to go back to basics. BarBelles & Book Nerds started out as a place for me to share my love of books through reviews, along with sharing my health & fitness journey in the hopes that my story might just inspire someone one day. I kind of lost sight of that for awhile and got bogged down in the “Business of Blogging.”

It’s time I get back to the enjoyment of reading that I haven’t had time for lately. Sharing my enthusiasm for reading through reviewing the books I’ve read and encouraging others to read them as well. Sharing my new story of getting healthy after a long set back.

I hope this works for you all because I sure am excited. This weeks book review will be up shortly. Keep an eye out.

P.S. With all these changes, I decided I needed a new hairstyle. It’s been awhile since I’ve had bangs. What do you think?
