What’s Going On With Me:
It’s been awhile since I made a blog post. This one is going to be a little bit different. There has been so much going on lately. My kids are out of school for Summer break finally so we are adjusting to a new schedule again. We had family come to visit us and see the new state and house we live in. It’s been about 2 years since we have seen them because they live on the other side of the country. We visited the Washington State Capital, Nisqually Fort, the Hoh Rainforest, the beach, Mt Rainier, Seattle, among other things. It was a lot of fun!
The family adventures have sparked my husbands interest in hiking. We may just be picking up a new hobby and I’m excited to start.
I have several things going on with BarBelles (my coaching buisiness) right now. My accountability group is on week 2 of our 21 Day Fix Challenge. We are doing pretty well considering it is summer break and the 4th of July just happened. A new challenge will be starting in August. I’ll keep you posted. For more information on the 21 day fix click on the pic below.
A few months ago I tried participating in 30 days of yoga. I made it to day 20 before I stopped. I want to try again so I’m starting a free yoga group on July 17th. It’s free for anyone wanting to try yoga. I will post a series of short 10-30 minute long yoga videos on the group for you to do daily. There will also be motivational posts and nutrition info. I would love for anyone to join. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
I have a very strict philosophy when it comes to food and “diets” and here it is; I won’t give up foods that I love for the sake of losing weight. Having said that, I am willing to find healthier alternatives and practice moderation. With that in mind, I’m in the process of starting a series of posts on cooking healthier versions of your favorite unhealthy foods. I want to show everyone that healthy food doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless and that you can still enjoy the foods you love while leading a healthier lifestyle. One of my favorite things about learning to be healthy was getting to experiment in the kitchen and try new things. I’ll let you all know more as that comes together.
I have read so many good books lately. I’m just going to post covers of them all with links to my reviews. There are also purchase links in the review if you find something that sparks your interest.
These are the most recent books I’ve read. There are several more since my last post but this would be an extremely long post if I listed them all. Feel free to explore the site under Book Nerds for more books and reviews. There will be plenty more to come as well.
I hope you all had a great 4th of July and continue to have a wonderful Summer.
